Created by act of the New York State Legislature in 1892, the Adirondack Park covers six million acres or roughly three times the area of Yellowstone National Park. Thanks to the protection of this conservation based legislation, the park encompasses vast expanses of public lands that are guaranteed to remain designated as '¬forever wild'®.
Located in the Northern part of New York State, the park covers all or part of 8 counties; Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Herkimer, Lewis, St. Lawrence, and Warren. Private lands are included in the boundaries of the park as well, allowing nearly one hundred year round communities to grow and flourish amongst the richness of this great retreat. Residents of the Adirondack Park communities not only provide the important service of caring for this vast resource but also take pride in providing hospitality in a welcoming atmosphere for thousands of visitors each year. North Warren, as its name implies, is nestled in the Northern most Territory of Warren County and includes the communities of Pottersville, Town of Chester, Town of Horicon, Brant Lake and Adirondack. It also includes Loon Lake, Friends Lake and Schroon Lake, and miles of the Schroon and Hudson rivers.
The North Warren Chamber of Commerce welcomes you and your family and friends to North Warren and we invite you to our homeland in the heart of the Adirondacks to enjoy all that our great park has to offer. Click here for our Adirondack Park map.
