A memorial golf tournament to honor Pfc. Jeremiah Monroe, a local soldier who was killed in Afghanistan in 2009, will be held August 6 at Green Mansions Golf Club. Four persons golf scramble. The event is hosted by the Monroe family along with others. Proceeds from the tournament benefit The Wounded Warrior Project.
Shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. $80 per golfer includes cart, beverages and lunch. Those golfing in the afternoon can sign up for a chicken dinner.
