The North Warren Chamber of Commerce is offering two- $500 scholarships to qualifying North Warren High School students. Criteria for winning a scholarship are: being the child or grandchild of a Chamber member, or working for a North Warren Chamber member; plans to further their education beyond high school, either in a trade school or college; and plans to pursue a career applicable to our Adirondack and North Warren businesses/occupations. Selection of winners will be made based on a hand-written essay, financial need, career anticipation, a brief interview, and a letter of recommendation from an employer or other adult from the community. The two scholarships will be awarded in the Spring of 2011. Applications are due May 26, and may be picked up at the counselor’s office of the North Warren High School or online at www.northwarren.com/index/live-work.
