Tenth Annual Pug Party and Parade Wraps Up
Note: Save the Date: October 17, 2010, Eleventh Annual Pug Party & Parade
Event organizers are calling the Tenth Anniversary Pug Halloween Party & Parade (October 16-18, 2009) a great success. One hundred sixty-eight pugs came from the immediate surrounding area as well as Florida, Connecticut and New Jersey to meet, greet and show off their Halloween digs. In addition, 15 canine friends of various breeds joined their pug friends and were also dressed to party.
The weekend spanned three days of events, including a Pug Rescue Benefit Party, which featured several dogs taking part in a fashion show and ball. Attendees gave generously at the door, and $235 was raised for Green Mountain Pug Rescue.
The next day, several pugs, still energized from the ball the night before, strutted down Chestertownís Main Street, leashed by their owners to keep their excitement controlled. After all, it isnít every day that the town belongs to the dogs -- and the night as well, as 50 owners and eight dogs attended the movie ìHotel for Dogs,î at the Carol Theatre.
Sundayís main event at Dynamite Hill, the Pug Party & Parade, attracted 168 pugs and their owners. Here are some photos from the event:
